The property – 3600ha on the Wild River, 30kms from Ravenshoe on the Atherton Tablelands, swimming, fishing 50 mtres from the house. Animals everywhere, horses, cattle. Work includes beekeeping and processing honey plus selling at the local markets. A sense of humour is compulsory – if you can’t laugh, you have no hope of survival. Caviar, Havana cigars and champagne not served here unless you bring it yourself. Accom is 3 star, you become part of the family with all mod cons.  Good Aussie food. Japanese and Koreans most welcome as their cooking is the best! Politicians and bureaucrats not accepted. Max. stay forever until you get sick of us.

Garnet, but only 35 kms to Greenvale.  A working certified organic cattle station. Beef cattle, some milking cows, organic vegetable garden (just starting). Work to be done includes some cattle work, fencing, yard work, gardening, planting, setting up watering system, HH chores. Must have own transport, road conditions good most of the year. Must telephone before arriving. No drugs. 4 people in our home or c/van, tent. etc. as family or s/c. mixed diet, no children.

Our operations include helicopter mustering 3 times a year and bringing cattle to central yards with horses for processing. Outside activities may include camp drafting, canoing, seasonal Rodeos, local agricultural shows and country music festivals. Work includes mustering cattle, weaning, hand feeding orphaned animals, horse care, etc. Need a hat and sturdy shoes. No thongs!. Accom for 1-4 people either in home, caravan or camp out. Children OK Mixed diet, cannot cater for vegetarians.

Family business with 2 large outback cattle stations.  Kinrara is located 110 kms from Mt. Garnet, 4 hours from Cairns. The Brook is located 150 kms from Charters Towers, 3 hours from Townsville. Each station houses a young family with young children. We are not close to any shops so we entertain ourselves with BBQ’s, dinners, picnics, visits from neighbours and football. We can P/U from Cairns or Townsville with prior notice and prefer a stay of at least 2 weeks. If you don’t mind hard work, would like to experience something different and have fun, you’re more than welcome to come and stay with us. Work includes mustering on motorbike or horseback, cattle work, welding and all aspects of station life, as well as HH duties and child minding (optional).  Accom. for 1-3 people in separate house or with the family. Children OK. Mixed diet.

Ph/Fax: 07-40971404, We manage Wombinoo Station which is a 60,000 acre cattle station located on the Herbert River, 45 kms SE of Mt. Garnet and 3.5 hrs from Cairns. I am an English ex-wwoofer who married an Aussie whom I met riding the Bicentennial National Trail.  We need help to establish an organic vegetable garden as everything is overgrown (we have just moved here) so weeding, planting, mulching work is involved. There is also plenty of station work as we muster using a helicopter, bikes and horses (experienced riders only) and there are ongoing building projects, fencing and all aspects of station life. We have abundant wildlife, friendly Kookaburras and wallabies in the garden, great fishing and bushwalks, lots of animals, horses, dogs, cats and chooks.  There can be trips out to local attractions, seasonal rodeos, great food and company. Separate accommodation for 1-2 people with toilet shower and fridge with meals at main house. No children. Mixed diet including meat. Bus service to Mt. Garnet from Cairns or may be able to pick up from Atherton or Ravenshoe with prior notice. Basic English a must. Boots and hats recommended. No drugs.
